Khutbah Companion ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Khutbah Companion mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Your name and email address through Apple Sign In or Google Sign In
  • A unique user ID associated with your account

We do not collect or store passwords directly.

Audio Recordings & Transcripts

When you record a khutbah or lecture in the App:

  • Your audio recording is securely uploaded and stored.
  • The audio is processed to generate a transcript and summary.
  • The transcript, summary, and related content are stored in your account.

You may delete your recordings and summaries at any time within the App. When deleted, the associated audio and transcript data are permanently removed from our active systems.

Subscription Information

If you purchase a subscription:

  • Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through In-App Purchases.
  • We do not collect, process, or store your payment information.
  • We receive confirmation of your subscription status in order to provide Pro features.

Push Notifications

If enabled, we collect a push notification token in order to send service-related notifications (such as when a summary is ready). You may disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide transcription and summarization services
  • Store and display your recordings and summaries
  • Manage subscriptions and access to Pro features
  • Send optional service-related notifications
  • Maintain and improve the App

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to help operate the App, including for:

  • Secure data storage
  • Audio processing and transcription
  • Subscription management
  • Payment processing
  • Notification delivery

These providers process information only as necessary to provide the App's functionality.

4. Data Storage & Security

We implement reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect your data. While we strive to protect your information, no online system can guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your recordings and transcripts until you delete them.

If you delete a recording, summary, or your account, your associated data will be permanently removed from our active systems.

6. Children's Privacy

Khutbah Companion is intended for users aged 13 and older.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal data
